As the various kingdoms of ancient Estontetso began to look outwards, they began to seek places in which to expand their dominions. To the west, what they saw was Lendosa. Up until recently, Lendosa had been under the control of the Regnosian Empire, a Tawhitoan civilization. in recent times, however, Regnosia had been in a state of collapse. Civil war racked the nation, and at least half of its territory was only under nominal rule. After a number of expeditions to Piolhosa, and a brief expedition to Lendia, they decided to aim their ambitions in that direction.

IN THE WEST
In 2130 BP, the first settlers arrived in Lendosa under the flag of Alembida, a kingdom in modern Estontetso. They established themselves on the eastern coast of Piolhosa, in the town of Novalambidicum. The town began as a small village, but soon prospered as increasing numbers of people decided to seek their fortunes in Lendosa.
The next set of colonists in Lendosa were from Qella, one of the ancient Neoliliani states. The colonization was not under the direction of the Qellan government, but nevertheless proclaimed allegiance to it and flew a banner of the Qellan symbol.
Then came Micholerdia. At the time, Micholerdia had no direct access to the Sea of Blue Waters, and so it concluded a deal with Alembida, its neighbour, to allow Micholerdia to dispatch colonizing expeditions from Alembidan ports for a substantial fee. The Micholerdians established colonies in Piolhosa, to the south of Novalambidicum, and in Lendia. Their Lendian colony, built upon the ruins of Brancassa and named after that old city, was the first colony in Lendia established by the ancient Estontetsan kingdoms.
In about 2085 BP, two new states entered the race to colonize Lendosa. These were the Kingdoms of Dascagnia and Uestadagnia, the forerunners of Dascunya and Uestadenia. These states were considerably less wealthy and technologically able than the Estontetsan kingdoms, but were determined not to let having a piece of Lendosa escape them. They established themselves in the south of Piolhosa.
In 2080 BP, the situation would have been thus:
Despite the early rush of nations to colonize Lendosa, all but Alembida and Micholerdia eventually bowed out. The Qellan colony came to an end when a disease ravaged the town and made the colony unviable, forcing the survivors to return to Qella. The Dascagnian and Uestadagnian colonies eventually fell to one another and to the Regnosians. Initially, the Dascagnian colonists attempted to declare independence, and succeeded for a year before the Uestadagnians attempted to annex them to their own colonies, causing a large amount of destruction. Dascagnia then launched an attempt to reconquer the colonies and also sieze the Uestadagnian colony, causing even more devestation. The entire fiasco was ended when a Regnosian army swept along the coast, defeated both Dascagnians and Uestadagnians alike, and destroyed the colonies (although the colonists themselves were permitted to leave, in keeping with Regnosian traditions about civilians captured in a military endeavour).
This left Alembida and Micholerdia as the only colonial powers in Lendosa. The Alembidan colonies were fairly tightly controlled, and for the most part were happy under Alembida. The Micholerdian colonies, however, immediately began to drift away from their nominal rulers. They remained technically part of Micholerdia, but were independent for all intents and purposes. In the year 2047 BP, the first Micholerdian colony declared independence, and the others followed soon afterwards. This declaration of independence was not recognised by Micholerdia, but no direct action was taken due to a war back in Micholerdia.
What Aratacius I (Arro-Take I) ascended the throne of Micholerdia, however, one of his first acts was to affirm Micholerdian sovereignty over the colonies in Lendosa. To ensure Micholerdian control, he dispatched a force to Brancassa, aiming to hoist the blue and white Micholerdian flag over the largest Micholerdian colony. This aft, however, greatly alarmed the Regnosians. While they were not overly concerned with colonists, they felt threatened by any foreign nation moving troops into Lendosa. The two factions in the great civil war that was destroying Regnos signed a truce, and quickly formed an alliance with Alembida, the other colonial power in Lendosa. Alembida was no longer on good terms with Micholerdia, and also sought to remove their last remaining competitor for the colonization of Lendosa. As part of the alliance, Regnos would officially cede the western thirds of both islands to Alembida, provided Alembida would not militarize the region.
The Regnosians and Alembidans launched a combined attack upon the Micholerdian forces in Lendosa. In Brancassa, the strengthened garrison was able to fend off the Regnosian assault, but in Piolhosa, the Micholerdian armies crumbled. Micholerdian presence in Piolhosa was ended, and Alembida took control of its colonies there. Furthermore, Micholerdian control of its Lendian colonies lapsed, and they began to drift towards independence again.
In 2000 BP, Aratacius completed his conquest of Peganhosa and Burburreica, and declared an end to the Kngdom of Micholerdia and the beginning of the Liliani Empire. At the beginning of 1999 BP, the new nation of Liliana declared all the old Micholerdian colonies in Lendosa to be a full part of Liliana, checking their independentist ambitions. Furthermore, Liliana declared its sovereignty over all Alembidan colonies as well. Its stated reasons for this were that Micholerdia had settled Piolhosa first (it hadn't) and that Micholerdia had never recieved just compensation for the loss of its Piolhosan colonies. Alembida, while certainly not a friend of Liliana, did not wish to provoke a war, but also did not wish to grant Liliana its territories. The Alembidan king decided that the best way around this was to grant the colonies independence. That way, Liliana could not demand anything of Alembida, since Alembida no longer controled the colonies. The Alembidans knew that the Lilianis had thought they could get he colonies without any effort, but that they would not deem it worthwhile dispatching an army to Piolhosa to fight the newly independent colonies.
While the colonial independence was effective immediately in technicality, Alembida actually maintained hold of the new Kingdoms by appointing its own regents "a suitable monarch could be found". In this way, Alembida preserved its rule until 1972 BP.
In 1975 BP, Lendosa would look as below (if counting the regent kingdoms as still Alembidan).
Gradually, the nations in Piolhosa and Lendia expanded, and Regnos shrunk. More and more colonists would travel to Lendosa, until the islands were not colonies but countries. The independent nations of Piolhosa never came under Liliani rule, and the Lendian colonies declared independence during a period of Liliani civil rule and soon formed a single Lendian state. While they were brought back under Liliani control, the notion of Lendia as a country and not as a colony was established, leading to its eventual independence and regional dominance.
